Loreto Mexico Fishing
Loreto Mexico Fishing: Loreto BCS Mexico is located 3/4 of the way down the Baja peninsula on the Sea of Cortez. Known for its fishing, Loreto is a sleepy little town with great food and amazing fishing.
Loreto Mexico Fishing is world famous. There are several boats located in the Malecon. There is a little table with a man that is setting up Charters with the local fisherman.
Over the last few times I have gone directly to Gabriel, who is an amazing captain and really fun to fish with. He “just knows” where the fish are and always puts you right in the mix. You can reach him at +52 1(613)118-4740. He speaks really good English and is always willing to take you out and stay all day.
Where to Fish
Most likely you will be taken to Punta Lobo which is an island off Loreto swarming with fish from Yellowtail to Seabass. It is a quick boat ride out and is a very beautiful back drop for your fishing. You will be serenaded by the local seals as you fish all day.
The bite is pretty amazing. You spend the early morning catching your bait then when you have enough bait you head over to Punta Lobo. You can also sling Jigs in between live bait, if you like to mix things up.
Once the day is over you get a beautiful ride in to the Malecon and Gabriel will take your fish and filet it all for you while you wait at your hotel.
Where to Stay
The last few time I have stayed at the Posada San Martin +52 (613) 135 1107. It is cheap and does the job. They have WiFi and coffee out early in the morning. It is quiet and there is a ice cream shop right around the corner and a restaurant called Orlando’s which really good Mexican food.
